LIVE BLOG: Clinton Becomes First Woman Nominated for President

The Democratic Party made it official Tuesday, naming Hillary Clinton their candidate for president in 2016 – and making history by selecting the first woman to represent a major U.S. political party. Following the roll call vote, Tuesday's speakers included former President Bill Clinton as well as the Mothers of the Movement -- the mothers of Trayvon Martin, Eric Garner, Michael Brown, Sandra Bland and other young black victims of violence.

Tennessee casts 50 votes for Clinton and 23 votes for Sanders.

South Dakota starts its roll call with a Lakota speaker, casts 15 votes for Hillary Clinton and 10 for Bernie Sanders.

New York, home state of Hillary Clinton, casts their votes
