LIVE BLOG: Clinton Becomes First Woman Nominated for President

The Democratic Party made it official Tuesday, naming Hillary Clinton their candidate for president in 2016 – and making history by selecting the first woman to represent a major U.S. political party. Following the roll call vote, Tuesday's speakers included former President Bill Clinton as well as the Mothers of the Movement -- the mothers of Trayvon Martin, Eric Garner, Michael Brown, Sandra Bland and other young black victims of violence.

Lauren Manning, who worked for the brokerage firm Cantor Fitzgerald, was severely injured in the September 11 attacks, burned over 80 percent of her body.

Manning says, the people who show up at the hardest times are the ones that mean everything. She says that Clinton visited her during her recovery. "When I needed her, she was there."
